Faq400 nasce con l'idea di creare in Italia un punto di riferimento per tutto ciò che riguarda la piattaforma IBM i (che nel tempo ha cambiato diversi nomi AS400/Iseries/I5/System i e infine IBM i).

Faq400 is born with the idea of creating in Italy a point of reference for everything related to the IBM i platform (which over time has changed several names AS400/Iseries/I5/System i and finally IBM i).

IBM da parte sua negli ultimi anni ha fatto crescere notevolmente le potenzialità di questa macchina aprendola verso il resto del mondo IT: oggi su IBM i continuano a girare le storiche applicazioni RPG/Cobol scritte oltre 25 anni fa ma possono essere scritte e gestite applicazioni in un ILE RPG Free molto più leggibile e potente, oppure Java, Ruby, NodeJs, Phyton ecc. 

Possono essere gestiti e consumati WebService Soap o Rest senza software in modalità nativa. 

Con appositi software di terzi anche l'interfaccia a caratteri è stata ampliamente superata da interfacce Web o Client PC come su altre piattaforme.

Noi crediamo in questa piattaforma che negli anni non ci ha mai tradito e con questa iniziativa vogliamo cercare di rimettere insieme una community di tecnici/commerciali/aziende che gestiscono il proprio business con IBM i.

In the last few years IBM  has greatly increased the potential of this machine by opening it to the rest of the IT world: today the historical RPG/Cobol applications written over 25 years ago continue to run on IBM i but now applications with an ILE RPG Free much more readable and powerful can be written and managed, as well as Java, Ruby, NodeJs, Phyton etc. 

WebService Soap or Rest can be managed and consumed in native mode without software.

With special third-party software, the character interface has been extensively superseded by Web interfaces or Client PCs as on other platforms.

We believe in this platform that over the years has never betrayed us and with this initiative we would try to put together a community of technicians / commercials / companies that manage their business with IBM i.
